To transfer data over the phone directly from TEXT to another Model 100
is really quite easy: just be sure one modem is set to answer and the other to
originate. The sender goes into the TEXT file to send, hits the <F3> key and
types MDM:7i1e. The recipient creates a new TEXT file, hits the <F2> key, also
types MDM:7i1e and makes sure to hit <Enter> first. That's all there is to it.
You can go back to your voice conversation when you're through.
You can do the same thing in BASIC–and you avoid having to create an
ASCII version of your tokenized program.
This happens to be one of the few suggestions on the Model 100 I've
ever published (Portable 100, December 1984, pp. 22-23). Thanks for giving me

But how do you deal with the lack of an Echo from the other M100. Dennis Thomas
and I tried transfers locally, and the lack of an Echo to tell you where you
were, and therefore, lack of a LF, caused all printing to be on one line.
Perhaps this would be a good idea for a short database file, transfers via
modem between Model 100's.
Tony, If you remember – the person sending would get everything on one line,
but it would be ok on the other end if the sender had the lf poke installed.
The only way to get around retyping in CO mode is to never hit the CR. At the
end of the line it will scroll down on both machines.

tried it the other day and had forgotten how to do it. Was using COM:7I1E.
