There is another internal modem for the NEC, by Dataport/CS(415-233-2530),
with auto on/off, log on, selectable 300, 1200, 2400 baud, but
originate only, for $275 installed. See May 85 Portable 100/200, page 55.
I've seen the product, but don't know much about it. However, I met the
guy who makes them at a Club 100 meeting in Danville, CA awhile back
(Jim Tunnell, a high-tech buff with lots of smarts and some really jazzed
up NEC 8201's and 8401's).
