When the final version of Workbench 1.3 is released, there will be some improvements in the Epson 9 pin printer driver. Specifically, there will be a psuedo-18 and psuedo-24 pin mode (done by making multiple passes of the print head) that will let you take advantage of the smoothing option in ProWrite (and presumably other programs as well). This will slow down the printing by a factor of two or more (since it does multiple passes), but should improve the quality. Of course, the quality won't be as good as a true 18 or 24 pin printer, since they have finer sized dots and more accurate positioning, but it is certainly worth the money!
