Hello, Folks, i am working on an animation of a robot playing a ovation-guitar, the data (sculpture, character) is ready, but now the action is a problem. It is very hard to animate the fingers of the robot because when they are near the ovation, then the picking of the knots becomes a roulette-game. Is it possible to freze objects so that they can not be accidentaly changed? An other good function would be a quick-shade in action, because sometimes it is hard to see if something is behind or in front of an other object. Read you … Hartmut

We will have a quick shade in Action in the next version! The only help I can offer in your selection of control points dilemma is to make full use of that zoom key…. there isn't a way to lock sections of a character except joints… a freeze feature is a great idea though! Steve, Hash Inc.

Yeah, wen can i get the update here in germany? My animation of a guitar-playing robot is coming to work. The first sceletal-file is ready, many more will have to be made. What technique do "profs" have to copy key-frames from one sceletal-file to an other (at different frames, of course)? The method of taking the source-file, copy the wanted frame b.e. to frame one, deleting all keyframes above and then insert frames before is not so satisfying. And, of course, a save (not save as) will destroy the source, so it is a little bit dangerous (think of long nights of acting …). I have estimated the animation would become some 3 minutes long, my only worry is about the computation-time on my 50MHz 486. Such a time-spending hobby … Read you again … Hartmut

I'll send a copy of the update out today…. It will probably take a couple weeks to get to Germany by snail mail… Steve, Hash Inc.
