To All: The following story appeared on NewsGrid: 01/05 1605 COMMODORE INT'L PROMOTES GAIL WELLINGTON DIRECTOR … WEST CHESTER, PA (JAN. 5) PR NEWSWIRE – Commodore International Limited (NYSE: CBU) today announced the promotion of Gail Wellington to director of special projects, a new position reporting directly to the president. Wellington will be using her skills, experience and international perspective to focus on and supervise major new hardware and software projects without having to be involved with day-to-day administrative tasks. Wellington began her career with Commodore in 1981 and has played key roles in the worldwide growth of the company's flagship Amiga line. Since 1986, she has been general manager of the Commodore Application and Technical Support (CATS) group, assisting in the third party development of Amiga software. Succeeding Wellington as Vice President in charge of CATS is Jeff Scherb, who will focus his activities on expanding Amiga software applications for Unix, multimedia, graphics and education as well as business and personal productivity. Scherb has extensive experience in both business software marketing and development. Before joining Commodore, he held a number of positios at Cullinet Software, most recently as vice president/Database and Data Communications Development, where he supervised a staff of 140 in the U.S. and Europe.
