I have been having fun with the BeamUp file that Ed put up here as a .TXT file. Worth the look folks. The "Beam" part is fine but IMHO it did seem to be missing the "Up". I have added another filter to give this illusion. My .PMP now reads Filter1 Transition Fader Solid Solid (click top right corner of frog) Movement speed of -80 to slow slide off top right Filter2 ditto Fader Random Random (just as Ed had) Filter3 Overlay alpha (just as Ed had) FYI I find Fauve Matisse great for making masks. The background is painted transparent around the frog and Exported. Viola a white frog on a black bgd. Enjoy … JPM

Great to see some discussion!!! Actually you can combine your filter 1 and 2 combinations to be 1 filter: Filter 1: Start: FROG.JPG, End: FARM.JPG Filter: Transition: Faders: Both Random, Direction arrow on start image: UP (or Up left, or Up right) Options: Start Mask: FROGMSK.BMP, Movement Speed: -80 Filter 2: (as described in text) Start: <Filter 1>, End: FARM.JPG Filter: Overlay: Alpha This will yeild the desired result and save you a filter. Try this at home: Substitute the distortion effect of your choice for Filter 2 then do the Alpha Overlay in filter 3. -Ed

>>Actually you can combine your filter 1 and 2 combinations to be 1 >>Filter 1: >> Start: FROG.JPG, End: FARM.JPG >> Filter: Transition: Faders: Both Random, Direction arrow on start >>image: UP (or Up left, or Up right) >> Options: Start Mask: FROGMSK.BMP, Movement Speed: -80 >> This will yeild the desired result and save you a filter. Now why didn't I see that! Brilliant. I am always trying to save a filter. Sometimes I have wished there was a 4th Filter. Cheers … JPM

>>Now why didn't I see that! Brilliant. I am always trying to save a filter. >>Sometimes I have wished there was a 4th Filter. Actually, sometimes I wish I had five or six. One 'work around' is to render the AVI file, then re-use it to apply more effects. Some other 'Morphing' programs call that 'similtanious effects' — You don't even get TWO filters…. One of my favorite PM2 tricks is to use Filters 1 and 2 for Alpha Channel construction and then use <filter 2> as your Alpha Mask. That's neat stuff. BTW: version 2.02 will allow BOTH <Filter 1> and <Filter 2> to be used as input. This means that you could make an effect with Filter 1, Make a completely different effect with Filter 2, then combine them with filter 3. Very useful… Cheers, -Ed
