Dear All, I want to formally apologize for letting the forum slide here for the last couple of weeks. The people that are getting turned off by Alberto, Newtish things, etc., and blaming the instigators are not right. It is the fault of the sysops and with better diligence we will correct the problem. Threads that have to do with "non-sequitar" or "ramblings" should and will be moved to said sections, in the future. The people that wish to participate may and should, we, the sysops are not in the business of censorship and believe that everyone can contribute here. In way of an excuse for my performance lately I will put this forward. As some of you know, but certainly not all as I don't believe I have ever formally introduced myself, I am a "dealer". I sell things like the FAST Video Machine, Video Toaster Flyer, Pinnacle Alladin, Sanyo GVR-S955, etc. I am a "true" DTV dealer, ie. someone who started in computers (Atari 400/800) and moved into the desktop video revolution with its instigator (IMHO) the Amiga and NewTek's (no, not Newt's, NewTek's 🙂 Video Toaster. Oh, my excuse, the NewTek Flyer, their non-linear editor, is shipping and I have been configuring systems day and night. Now, with that said about me being a dealer, I hope that you all can accept me, NOT as a dealer… I don't want to give prices, I don't want to push _my_ products, I simply want to be able to impart what knowlege I do have to you all, when I can, and take from this forum all the knowlege that I can get. I may not have said that strong enough. If one of you sees that I am being opinionated and not acting as any other member of this forum would act I expect an immediate and public response. I am truly here because I like it here and not because I have any interest in forwarding any materialistic intensions. -John

John: >I want to formally apologize for letting the forum slide here for the last couple of weeks.< Don't worry about it–I think we're all over 21 here and maybe should have behaved ourselves a bit better. After all, this isn't the Internet… >I am truly here because I like it here and not because I have any interest in forwarding any materialistic intensions.< Oh, don't worry, John! If we think you're out of line, we'll tell you <g>… >the Amiga and NewTek's (no, not Newt's, NewTek's 🙂 Video Toaster.< What a concept–The Newt Video Toaster! You input your video and it trashes it as "overpriced, degenerative rich liberal homosexual-loving art"… Er…where *is* the "Ramblings" thread, anyway? I have a feeling that crack belongs there instead of here… Best, Tim Liebe

I am new here, and know nothing about a need for an "apology" The word you used that tweeked me was "Flyer" (like in Toaster). I had a quick look at it last Thursday at a dealer here in Toronto, and was quite impressed. Since I had put in a "blind purchase order" for one last July after seeing it briefly at NAB, is it really that good? I will be able to look at it again next week as the dealer has invited me to demo it for him at the VPM (Video production Magazine) show here in two weeks. I have experience in video for a great number of years. I guess he figures if I can use it, anyone can! Regards, Rick
