Hi,
Actually I've been waiting 10 years for the technology of going from computer
to VCR. Now, even with all my reading, I am somewhat confused. There doesn't
seem to be a definitive source for finding out what board(s) are compatible or
what their sepcific features are. I want to be able to do titles, effects,
overlays and capture pictures from my PC to VCR. Perhaps someone can point me
in the correct direction of any literature I might purchase. I have a gateway
2000, 486/33c with an ATI Ultra graphics board, the local bus is ISA. I would
appreciate any help.

Hi Pamela,
Some of the best magazines for the DeskTop Video producer seem to be Digital
Video World, Video Pro, VideoMaker, and New Media. In particular the November
issue of New Media Magazine had a pretty good round-up of Windows based Video
Capture Cards.
Also, in the libraries here (I believe the News & Reviews library) there is a
series of articles for the beginning DTV'er.

The technology to go from computer to VCR has been available at affordable
pricing for at least 9 years — just not in the clone world.

Take a look at my review of the Magni VGA Producer Pro in Library 2 of this
forum. I have looked at a number of products to go from PC to VGA with genlock
(the capability you describe) and found this one to be the best I have seen so
far. Reviews of other products are also in Library 2 (VVGA16.TXT).
