#Rendering cones

Here's one for you… I've been trying to render shingles onto a cone shaped roof… As you look around the cone, the angle of the rows of shingles gets more and more skewed. I've tried all the different mapping choices (organic, planar, cylin., etc) and get the same results everytime… Any suggestions? I might mention that I've got 4 cones in the drawing on the same layer… Thanks

You may need to break the 4 cones up so that there is a separate object for each cone. Then use the cylindrical or spherical mapping and I believe you'll get the desired effect. Do you know how to break the object up? Use the Select Toolbox to assign a different material to each cone. Then load the object into the Object Designer and use the "Split All" button to create a different object for each material assignment. If you need more detail on this process, let me know.
