Not always (but usually) true. When I purchased my P-90 from Gateway about 6 months ago with 32meg of ram, they shipped it with two 16meg simms, not four 8meg. This left me with two free slots and very happy. One of these days I'm going to fill them, but there always seems to be something else to buy.<G> Mitch

Mitch, Glad to hear they left you room to expand. I think it has a lot to do with RAM availability, and what the manufacturer has in stock at the time. It also depends on the cost of the different sizes of SIMMS. I didn't mean to make it sound like they do it just to screw you over (maybe a little hostility getting through). It is still a good idea to specifically ask the manufacturer how they will fill the RAM slots. byron
