Matrox MGA + buy??

all,
i am considering purchasing a Matrox MGA Impression + (4meg PCI)
primarily for CDK and 3d Studio. I am curious if anyone is using
this card and can give me feed back regarding compatibility and
drivers. My main concern is vibrant support for 3ds, CDK for NT and
Vesa compatibility. I am planning on ordering this card today so any
feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a Matrox Imp+ for about 3 months now. The Imp+ board is great for
windows AutoCAD Release 12. But I've had trouble using it with 3D Studio V4.
I spoke with some at VIBRANT technologies on 2/9/95 and he assured me that a
new 3ds v4 inline driver will be posted by 2/18/95. This is supposed to solve
the current driver problems. The matrox board has very poor DOS/VESA
performance, so if you replay flics or use animator pro I woundn't recomend
this board. In closing, even though this board can do real time shaded 3d
rotation, "It is not supported in 3D Studio". I have a n ATI Graphics Pro Turbo
(4meg) in my home machine and it works great.

Yes 🙂 there will be Vibrant support for the Matrox MGA Impression Plus in the
upcomming In-Line driver release. Vibrant will be releasing the new In-Line
driver this week to AutoDesk.
