I live in the Pacific Northwest (northeast of Seattle) and like to think of
myself as an earthquake preparedness expert. Only problem is, I really don't
know that much about the geology of the land here and would like to know much
more. What are the types of quakes that might be expected in this state and
what impact would this have on the types of ground structure that we have here.
Also, where do the fualt lines run in this state.

Try your local library. I used to travel a lot on business, and If I had free
time on a weekend, I'd do a little fossil collecting. The reference and
general sections of the local libraries invariably have some USGS/State/
University geologic pamphlets that describe local formations, commercial
geology and, in earthquake prone areas, fault and quake assessment data. You
could also try talking to a major local construction company that needs to
worry about building it's bridges, shopping centers, etc so they won't fall
down.
