If I were going to release a Unix Amiga, I could see an argument for fewer slots in a small-footprint box. I think all of the Unix workstations I've seen are not particularly expandable (excluding SCO-386 ATs). If the memory and disk controller are on the motherboard, and if the 80386 is on the motherboard too as other rumors have it, there might not be such a crying need for slots.

From what I'm being told, Commodore is making an 80386 bridgecard. It is based on the 386SX chip. I do not have any information yet if it can now use the Amiga serial port or has built in VGA graphics. I can almost certainly say that the A3000 does not have an 80386 chip built in to work as a bridgecard. (I think it's a great idea, but it would add too much to the cost of the base machine)
