3DS & Lantastic 6.0
6 messages in this thread
I noticed several weeks ago that there was a thread on Lantastic 6.0 and 3DS.
Like a dummy I skipped over the thread because I was running Lantastic 5.0.
Now I'm needing to upgrade to 6.0 and am curious, are there some inherent
problems with Lantastic 6.0 and 3DS? If anyone is using the two of theses,
please let me know how they are working together. Much thanks. -Mark

Mark,
I didn't read the thread either because we have been using Lantastic 6.0 with
3DS for months with zero problems. 3DS's use of a network is so simple that
there aren't a lot of places where problems can occur.

Terry- Thanks for the reply. I feel better now. Glad to know I'm not the
only one who skips threads. I used to read everything on the forum for about
the first year it was online, but it's gotten so active that I'd spend all my
time reading and not get any work done. How are things in Lawrence? Tell Tim &
Betsy I said "Hello". Thanks again. -Mark
Mark,
Tim says hello. He's busy writing right now and only comes up for air
sporadically.
It is hard to keep up on threads. I've taken to downloading whole message
sections and then skimming them later. Sometimes later gets to be _much_
later. I often delete half of it unread. Too bad that I still have to sleep!
As to the Lantastic network, it has been working great but I think that we will
switch to an NT server by this summer. Got to get ready for R5! I must say I
will be delighted when I can finally move beyond DOS. It has its advantages,
but I'm getting tired of the limitations. I just want to get on with my work.

Terry- Sorry I'm so slow in getting back to you. I finally forced myself to
take a week off and head for the mountains.<G> After a week on CO I'm ready to
tackle the computers again. Actually, I spent most of my time trying to figure
out how I could make a living with these things in the mountains.
Unfortunently, there's just not much call for animation in Creede, pop. 540. I
wish there was, I'd be there in a heartbeat.
I agree with you on moving beyond DOS. I really don't know alot about the
other OS's, but form all that I've read, it sounds like it will be quite a
treat. It sounds like it might be a little easier for Gary and the gang to do
some more cool stuff once the move is made. Later. -Mark
