Jeff The Voyager intro was done in Wavefront's TAV and Dynamation packages. The company is Santa Barbara Studios in Santa Barbara California. – Kevin McTiernan AAST

The Voyager itself in the intro is a a combination of motion control model work as well as a full CGI mesh created at Amblin Imaging. Although all composited by SB Studios, the CGI Voyager was built and the elements rendered on PC based software at Amblin.

All the particle systems stuff, like the gas wake and solar flares were done by Santa Barbara Studios as well, using Dynamation.

>> Santa Barbara Studios. They have an awsome particle system. I imagine that's what they used on "500 Nations" to produce smoke. I was amazed at the realism in their work. – Dave
