The problem with your Musicraft files could be that the files have some "customized" instruments, which are not found on your musicraft disk! There's a file on Plink called MCINFO2.EXE which analyzes a musicraft file and gives you a screen or paper printout telling you which instruments are loaded into the score, which ones are used, which ones aren't, and the option to purge the not-used ones from the score to save on load time. YOur other option would be to type out your score file thusly to your screen: TYPE NAME.SCORE OPT H which will give you a hex dump listing of the score. Keep an eye on the ASCII text on the right side of the screen, and you'll see a list of the instruments needed by that score. Check this against your INSTRUMENTS directory. You can always copy an existing instrument to a required name instrument to get the score to run, although it may not sound the way the composer intended it to. Lastly, the score may have been composed with a later version of musicraft that you don't yet have. I've seen version 0.8, 0.99 and 1.00, and many of the scores on the 1.00 disk (such as the finished "Miami Vice" wchich by the way is INCREDIBLE!!) will not load or play in the older versions, instrument names notwithstanding. So… could be any combo of the above reasons why you can't listen to your downloaded scores.
