I called CSA again to ask them some questions I have about their Turbo Amiga hardware. I had received some brochures earlier from them and I shared them with this forum. Here are questions and some answers. I'm sure this will generate further questions. I talked to Patricia Chouinard. 1. Which would be best, the internal ("PiggyBack") plug-in board or the Turbo Amiga exapnsion box? Apparently, the PiggyBack board is being phased out. They still have them in stock and will sell them, but remaining stock only. There is available a 512kbyte 32-bit RAM board that will work with the PiggyBack. They are concentrating on the Turbo Amiga exapnsion box for which the 68020/68881 plug-in board costs the same. They are behind the order rate and they are shipping 30-40 days ARO. 2. Is a software driver required for an SCSI disk attached to the CSA SCSI interface? Patricia would have preferred that I talk to an engineer all of whom were at a meeting. She would say that the combination of the interface card (SCSI) and the SCSI disk that they supply will work, but I didn't quite get fully answered. She further said that _any_ SCSI HD will attach. I then wondered about formatting HDs of varying capacities vis-a-vis driver software. 3. For the Turbo Amiga expansion box, will boards of other manufacture work? If the plug-in boards conform to the ZORRO 100-pin standard, they will work with the expansion box. The CSA plug-in boards are 8.5"X7.3". I guess they handle the 32-bit bus in some clever way that will not interfere with the standard 16-bit bus plug-ins. 4. Will the Turbo box attach to a memory expansion that has returned the bus connector? If such bus returns conform to Amiga standards, it will. They have talked with ComSpec, and they say it will work. They are unsure of CardCo (C Ltd.).
