Prism Upgrade
1 messages in this thread
As the publisher of Prism, I have tried to be very sensitive to the needs
of the users of our software. There seemed to be 3 main complaints/gripes
of Prism. 1). The lack of a 4096+, or clean-up mode, 2). No CMAP in the
ILBM header file, so some programs couldn't use Prism saved IFF files, and
poor documentation expecially regarding the Area/Region commands.
As you may have heard we are now shipping a significant upgrade to Prism,
now called Prism Plus. Prism Plus addresses all of the above concerns but
one. (We are still having the new manual written). If you have sent in
your warranty card you should be receiving a letter in the mail notifying
you of the upgrade, which is FREE to all registered owners.
Prism Plus now supports: All Legal IFF ILBM picture types including REAL
IFF brushes. PAL Support, Overscan Support, Picture sizes up to 1024X1024
pixels, 320X400 Interlace Mode, Our Heuristics for HAM clean-up are I'm
sure you will find the most ambitious yet used on the Amiga.
New palettes can be computed AT ANY TIME by the user, clean-up is done in
REAL-TIME as you paint also. Text is re-computed when in overscan mode,
Genlock is fully supported with a variable color zero. Prism will even be
able to edit "Silver" ray-traced Animation files.
As with the first version of Prism, the products' main thrust is as a HAM
Edit/Paint program. This differs from Digi-Paint greatly. Digi-Paint has
some very unique and special abilities dealing with special effects. Even
though I personally conceived Prism, I still use and like Digi-Paint, and I
think those out there who seriously deal in the HAM world NEED BOTH
PROGRAMS.
With the exception of Digi-Paint brushes, everything else is transporable
between both programs. Digi-Paint is using their own Brush format which is
not any sort of IFF standard. If you have any other questions about the
new Prism Plus, please feel free to give me a call at: 1-800-328-0184.
