Try using a bump map for the torso muscles — like Martin Foster's HEROs. There's an image somewhere over in ASHOWCASE, or check out his chapter in the 3DS Special Effects book from New Riders. Dave

Displace won't work if you're going to use SKIN. The project that Martin Foster (70303,456) did used skin and bump maps. I'd suggest looking for the image — it's very nice, or, if you have the 3DS Siggraph '94 video, they are all in it, and animated. Dave

>>Displace won't work if you're going to use SKIN. Actually, I may be mistaken on this — I was going to give it a try, but have gotten side-tracked. Have you tried it? I'd like to hear what you find…. Dave

I found that using Smooth after a Boolean operation did not result in a mesh that was smooth if I had a default or plastic material on the mesh, but that by assigning a texture map to the mesh it looked VERY smooth.
