I need some help. I'm using Jr. Comm 0.94B and an A500 to connect and I can't figure out how to d/l anything. I format a disk and leave itin my external 3.5" CA-880 drive. I then try and do either a cap capture or I try d/l to the df1: and the program keeps saying 'df1: is not a dos disk'…what is it ? I'm new at this Amiga, so 'speak' slowly and pronounce each syllable carefully 🙂 Also, where do I find a file explaining how to recapture each of the file types, e.g. ARC, LZH, BIN, etc?

i also use jrcomm and a500 asfar as the not a dos disc try copying some files to it while offline just to verify that it's not a system problem. for your capture files try going into the options menu and select general or right amiga key 6 then check your download path and your capture file path. insert the proper paths being sure to hit the return key after each one to update the file if this works thengo to project menu and select write defaults and save this to your jrcomm.def file. as far as the filetypes you mention those are are compression routines and you will need a program to decrompess those files after you download them. try lha138.run in the utilities library it is self decompressing. open a shell window and type lha and follow the command template. I had much trouble at first but I persevered with the help of others here in the forum and have always succeded in solving my proplems. What I cannot do alone We can do together…
