I have a friend who has an Amiga operating system and would like to know if
their
is (GUI) based software like MOSAIC or NETSCAPE for that system.
And what is the basic modem speed for access to the INTERNET.

That sounds like good news. Am I right in understanding you to mean that
within a month or two we'll be able to use AmiTCP or something and all that
(it's all Greek to me, for now, but I'll dive in soon) and get Internet access
through our CIS accounts?

I can't say anything over and above the press release — let alone interpreting
what it may mean.

Looking back through my history file, I cannot find message #185338. Was it
private or in some other way "flagged" so I couldn't see it?

The message is still in the message base — take a look.
Do you know why I might miss some messages? Should I submit this in the format
of an Incident Report?
The message does not show up in my (AP) history file… no, I have not deleted
or otherwise tinkered with/modified the history file, including turning it off
and back on. I have messages before and after it.
Could this be related to why I sometimes read a message that AP doesn't ghost
the Parent button for but when I click on the button, AP tells me that the
parent message is not in my file.
As for looking in the message base again, I didn't want to reset the last read
date and have AP spend the time ($) rereading several hundred messages that I
already have in the history file and it's been so long since I logged onto CIS
manually, I'm not even sure I could navigate to this forum and find the
message.

I have no idea unless you use Get Headers instead of Get Messages … then the
answer is obvious.
This happens a lot to me as well. Mainly in fora with high scroll rates.
I always figured that people were posting messages while I was reading and
after I finished autopilot was resetting last message read to the (new) high
message number.
This happens in both "get headers" and "get messages" modes.

I have the same problem with AutoPilot… It hasn't bothered me that much, but
I wonder if there are times when I miss messages. I get messages from all
forums and keep a 90 day history. The message Steve left about CIS offering
PPP I did get…

Can you tell me what the file name is? I don't seem to be able to
find it. I've tried searching under MOSIAC and TCP.

It's in library 4 (Networking) under mostcp.lha.
Try MOSAIC, not MOSIAC
