#CSA-MMR daughterboard
3 messages in this thread
Hi,
I've got a problem with my CSA Mega Midget Racer. About 2 1/2 years ago I
purchased the DRAM daughterboard, populated with 4Megs (which was all I could
afford at the time). Recently I bought ZIP RAM chips for another 4Megs. I
soldered them in correctly (I believe) but my system won't recognize them. I
still get only 4 Megs of 32bit RAM. The manual tells of a few jumpers to be set
for Chip size, access speed and the like, only I have the daughterboard for the
A2000 which doesn't have ANY jumpers! In the addendum to chapter 8 of the
manual this is confirmed but it deosn't say whether the board auto-configures
to the amount of RAM installed.
Does anyone have an idea as to what I should do about this? I've come to a
point where I really need this extra 32bit memory.
Thanks,

Aren't those jumpers located on the main board?

Richard,
no, there ARE jumpers located on the main CPU board but they have got nothing
to do with the DRAM daughterboard of which two versions exist – one for the
A500 WITH jumpers to configure the board and one for the A2000 WITHOUT any
jumpers.
