#CD32 Emulation???

There is isn't that much information associated with either products when one
reads the ad. The only caption placed for each product is that "they are CD32
emulators". I called both mail order companies that placed the ad in
AmigaWorld and both basically said "We don't have any information on the
product,… call back sometime in the next couple of weeks" and that's about
the extent of it. I have however, read and ad someone posted on the one of the
Amiga usenet groups claiming to have another CD32 emulator. If I remember
correctly, (don't quote me on this one) :
a. Runs on AGA machines (both 1200 and 4000)
b. compatible with any SCSI-II CD drives
c. emulates the CD32 controller either on keyboard or joystick
d. allows CD32 disk boot ups
If this product does this and gives you a good sound Akiko support for a 90 –
95% compatibility, just release a list of proven compatible CD32 ddiscs and let
me know who is marketing it, I'm game ;^) All I'd need now is a MPEG/FMV board
(in the $200 – $400 range) and I'm happy camper. BTW, this particular product,
I believe comes from someone in Germany??? Are we talking about the same thing

The Akiko support is moderate (you need a fast Amiga) and only works with
Kickstart 3.1

Uff, I tested a lot. Only some from Core Design, Ltd. and Wing Commander
failed. Can't figure out why.
Microcosm, Pirates! gold, D/Generation, Diggers, Oscar, Labyrinth, Pinball
Fantasies (with CDDA Audio), Morph, James Pond III, Dangerous Streets and a lot
more I can't remember worked, all tested with an A1200 and an A4000/40.

My Emulator does not support MPEG/FMV.

After some investigation I found out that Blittersoft IS selling my product. So
we are talking about the same toy.
BTW, this product is a very nice CD-Rom File System. The CD32 Emulation is just
a "feature".
The "CacheCDFS" offers you fast and effective "Last Recently Used" caching with
or without prefetch, reads Amiga (ISO-2), PC (ISO-1), Unix (RockRidge) and
MAC (HFS) CDs. Supports Multi-Session and Photo CDs. Comes with a small (!)
CDDA Player and other Utilities.
Using the FileSystem without CD32 Emulation does not require AA/AGA machines.

Sounds exactly what I've been looking for in a CD32 emulator. So we (USA users)
should wait for the "Blittersoft" sponsored product to hit this side of the
shore in the next ????? weeks/months… BTW, when you state that the product
comes with a CDDA player, does that mean that audio in interwoven with the
Amiga's audio channels, hence comes out of the audio ports, or do you still
need a headphone attached to the CD drive's headphone jack. I know that
AsimCDFS allows you to play the audio over the Amiga's audio ports, of course,
provided you have attached a cable from the Cd drive's audio/out port to the
Amiga's motherboard ext audio in port (I know the A4000 has it, I'm not sure
other models have this connector) connector. Also, the Photo CD support is
definately a plus here. Like I said before, sounds like a great product (on
paper), just point to the distributor and I'm game ;^) Catcha later,

Oh, just for clarification: The FileSystem can handle multisession PhotoCDs
without any additional hacks or patches.
There is NO PhotoCD reader included in the package, but there are some
(commercial or PD) available.
