Mark's 486DX2 is a 66Mhz DX2 with 256K cache, VESA, etc… it is a screamer (it beats our 66Mhz Gateway machine hands down). MSD does not ID Pentium processors (at least the version with DOS6.2 doesn't). SysChk looks at the machine status bytes to determine the processor type and performs some Pentium-only instructions… they all work just fine. Pentium is a trademark of Intel.

Thanks Jim. That sounds better than I thought. Regardless, though, I'm sure I'll be getting an Emplant one of these days. One question though – was the Emplant in the benchmarks running on a stock 4000, or on Warp Engine 4040 or something? Paul (aka Mr. Zombie)
