Hello Edwin, I noticed your pictures in the forum library illustrating the SCALPEL IPAS routine. Just a suggestion, but you might consider rendering to JPG for uploading instead of TIF. The file size will be much smaller and MANY more people will download and see your images. For example, I saved your 314000 byte SCALP_.TIF as a 26381 byte SCALP_.JPG with very little noticible loss of quality. I looked at SCALP_.TIF and HAUS.TIF and think your program may be very useful. From HAUS.TIFF, it looks like you can slice with more than a simple infinate plane thru the object. How do you specify the slice? How is this different from a boolean? (that is, a set of boolean subtractions on copies of the objects) If I download GOLD_C.EXE will that explain everything, or do you have something else which explains this better? BTW, if your IPAS will slice on a plane only, (instead of along an interactive, user-controled or specified path, etc.), would it be more appropriately named SLICER, CLEAVER, SPLITTER, SECTIONER or somesuch? When I heard of a routine named SCALPEL, I sort of expected a program that would cut with more flexibility than with planes. Don't misunderstand – I'm not at all criticizing your IPAS, which I think will be a useful routine, especially in the scientific/technical work I do. It should save some steps over what I do now with booleans. Have you decided on a price yet? JKJ
