Easy there, Stephen! You don't want to start *another* platform war here, do
you? <g>
Technically, Rimas, Stephen's got a point–while the PowerPC chip makes the
Macs a *lot* faster than they were, Intel keeps pushing up the speed of their
Pentium chips. OTOH, and unless OS/2 Warp and Windows 95 perform to
expectations, the Mac still has the edge on taking advantage of all the
processor power and RAM much more efficiently. (NOTE: I haven't yet used either
OS/2 Warp or Windows 95–my computer's still using Windows 3.1–so I can't say
for sure whether they're as good as the developers promise. Worse, whenever I
read about either of these new systems, I just get *more* confuzzled…)
But the REAL, important issue for Rimas' brother is–will the computer he buys
run DOOM II? Well, how about it, folks? Is DOOM II coming out for the Mac or
not?
