I've tried OPTIMIZE from QEMM and this does not fix my problem where
the screen shows the tape-eating monster then it goes through its
syntax thing, then I get a fatal error message. I don't know what to
do to fix this. The 1.3 version works fine, but I need the latest
version's ability to delete animations as I join them. I am out of
space on the Micropolis and it won't allow me to join in version
1.3. I also noticed that I get a message when rebooting my system
saying something about being "out of environment space", what does
this mean? I have 53K of conventional memory before running

James, You mean 530K in DOS right? Not 53K I hope. Anyway, if you're
getting an Out of environment space error you to increase it's size
in your config.sys. You should have a line like
"Shell=c:\command.com /p /e:1024" This can be the first line of
config.sys. The /e:xxxx is what increase your environment size. I
think it defaults 256 bytes. You might even try 512 and go up from
there if you need it. BTW, the environment space is used to hold Set
statements etc. if you type set at the DOS prompt it will list the
contents of the environment space for you. Good luck.
