Hello, prospective AA Studio users, It seems like the new Autodesk Showcase Forum needs some promotion. As a mere coincidence I also mention some uploads from DiP there. <g> Since Autodesk isn't known for excessive marketing hype (name a more under-marketed product than Animator??) it seems very likely that the forthcoming Animator Studio will be a very exciting software. All according to the brief press releases available. As a very important bonus (at least for me!) AA Studio will support standard Photoshop Plugin Filters, i.e. no proprietary versions like KPT for 3D Studio; please, correct me if I am wrong. The Windows market is still far behind Macintosh regarding the number of plugin filters, but the most important collection has been around for a while: Kai's Power Tools for Windows. DiP is an electronic magazine/book, tutor/review – strange bird, this! – in WinHelp format. The shareware edition of "DiP presents KPT" contains a short introduction, some interface penetrations and an in-depth guided tour into KPT Fractal Explorer, one of the three main effect modules. The original release is DIPKPT.EXE, but there are three alternative downloads including VGA versions. I hope you will enjoy it! If you're a brave downloader you maybe also will take a look at "DiP presents KPT – The Animation", created in AA Pro. I had to skip all the niftiest effects – the two parts became 2.5 meg without them! – but even at this simple level it is my favourite upload ever.
