Could anyone out there suggest components and/or reliable vendors to build a decent DTV platform to produce training videos for my company ????

<<suggest components and/or reliable vendors to build a decent DTV platform to produce training videos>> Louis, a lot of those recommendations depend on how much experience you have at assembling 'components' and also in producing video. The more experience you have, the more you can rely on your own skill set. The less experience, the more you should rely on a vendor — perhaps a turnkey installation. A non-linear DTV rig can be expensive. If your budget and asprin bottle allow for lots of mistakes (God knows I've made more than my share), then you will certainly learn a lot by going at it solo. And will gain an understanding of your equipment, its limitations, and strengths. If you've never produced a video before; have little studio experience; or you've never worked with DTV, e-mail Patrick Rafter at 'Data Translation 73370,613'. Briefly explain what you'd like to do, and ask for a Media 100 dealer near you. Many of their dealers specialize in the 'Industrial in-house' market. They are accustomed to working with novices and experts alike, and won't let you go down in flames. Best, Paul
