Marcel,
Do you know if a 32-bit video editing software will accelerate playback+
editing a lot, or do you think the performance increase will be based in a
32-bit File format, implementation of Video For Windows?
Thanks,
John

I have not worked with any 32bit editing software except Elastic Reality and
that seems to work faster in NT compared to WfWG 3.11. But 32bitness is no
garantee by itself for increased performance – neither on the editing side nor
on the playback or file format side of the equation. An NT version of Premiere
sure would be nice, though <g>. As to Video for Windows – the Welcome.avi that
comes with Windows '95 shows very similar performance in NT 3.5, WfWG and
Windows '95 Build 324. I would really like to put capturing, editing and
playback to the test in NT 3.5 – but I had to remove my Hauppauge board because
using it destabilized NT.
