It helps a great deal. In fact, I was thinking already of including one
standalone CD-ROM external portable drive for those folks who don't want to
give up their current laptop but still want CD-ROM capability. As for
throughput, it's not an issue for the audience I'm addressing– most of them
are simply looking to access reference disks, anyway (it's for a feature called
"The Business Traveller", so I doubt seriously these folks are going to be
interested in MPEG files <g>).
You might interested to know that there are CD-ROM external drives that can be
plugged into your serial or parallel port (and so doesn't require SCSI).
