First thanks for the reply, this is really frustrating. I do get back an 'OK' when I send the 'AT' command, and I have done the selftest with the modem, and the speaker goes on it dials itself, and prints to the screen. When I send the full dialing string,i.e. ATDTxxx-xxxx, I get nothing. The modem doesn't seen to dial, and of course I connect to nothing. Any other thoughts? They are appreciated. I've seen some modems that, while they pass data at 1200 (or 2400) bps, are not able to accept a command line burst at full rated speed. Are you able to send a dialing string a character at a time, from the keyboard, and not able to autodial from a program's phonebook? Also, what happens with some of the other commands? Does ATH1 or ATA pick up the line? * RR 13042
