yes, I now have their brochure but performance was not described. They the
APL character set and the ASCII keyword version available. For true APL
work, the character set is imperative. I can tell you about using my Apple
II as an APL terminal with a mainframe in Canada. My work in APL has been
with the Aviation data-bases of I.P. Sharp They have multi-dimensional
matrices of 300,000,000 time-series events within t their system, yet
reports can be generated with a few lines of code.
They told me that the interpreter is written in 68K assembly language, and
that it will use the 68881 if present. (But the guy I talked to didn't
know exactly how that would happen on a 68881-equipped Amiga). Unless they
botched it pretty badly, it should fly… One thing for sure, you're not
going to work with files of 300 million values unless you invest in a
rather large hard drive (!)… – Bela
