I am sure that you are much more knowledgeable in this area, but from local experience (2 different drives – 2 controller failures) I'd bet on the controller. It's my belief/superstition that, after the initilization sequence, there should be no flashes — ever — when it is disconnected from the SCSI bus. I'm sure that you have already checked to see what SCSI Unit No. the drive is jumpered for. I'd bet that the Wichita folks probably set it up to be Unit 0. Anyway good luck. I'm trying to stay set up to quickly switch back to a floppy-only boot just in case my drive starts showing similar symptons. The other AM-33 owner (who got his back from KS in December) is now having the periodic blinking and (sure enough!) sooner or later the DOS "… has a read/write error" notifications that seem to go along with it all.

I'm going to have the OMTI checked out first as suggested by Clark from Supra. Thanks for the help. Fred
