According to the Computer Factory where I bought my Amiga (Garden City NY)
Commodore told them they had to sell it at the new price. They were not price
protected, therefore they had to sell whatever stock they had regardless of
what they paid Commodore, for the new lower price. I bought my Amiga one week
before the price reduction and needless to say I was upset when I saw the add
in the NY Times – they agreed to split the $500 price difference with me and
gave me a $250 credit. They said had they been protected they would have passed
along the whole savings to me.

Out of curiosity, did you have to get violent or anything with them to get that
credit? Or did you just suggest it and they agreed?

That is the whole Commodore ballgame. At one point, I sent back close to
$100,000.00 worth of stock to CBM, at the old price for refund, only to have
them send it back, and billed at the new price, AND it was the same VP of Sales
that you guys in the US have, James Dionne. Have your dealer ask Jimmy if he
wants another fiasco like that?
