Is it possible to halt printing in Scribble! once you have started printing? Besides a warm reboot…which I use now. Thanks, George Glines

The other solution is to kill the printer and see what happens. I tried it once but don't recall what happened.

Killing the printer gives you the printer trouble requester which repeats forever until you reboot. George

Ick, that most be why I never did it again!

George: It does not repeat forever (it just seems like it)! I believe AMIDOS tries about 10 times (maybe twenty) before it just decides that you don't know what you are doing (or your printer is really broke) and gives up. 73s, bill

Kevin: I have only been 'half-heartedly' following this thread but it seems to me that it is a discussion of how to stop a print operation while in scribble. I think that the correct answer was given but having had the need to terminate a print out and not remembering how to accomplish such a feat I have turned off the printer. It works but necessitates a fair amount of patience since Ami DOS recognizes what has gone wrong and continues to prompt you to correct the problem for about 5 minutes before giving up! 73s, bill

The real solution would be for Scribble! to provide an interrupt mechanism to let us stop unwanted printer output (first page is fouled up and the next twenty will be so). This is fairly easy to do from the INSIDE and almost impossible to do from the OUTSIDE (without source). — Kevin

It's there, hit ESC or click on the window and you're out of the print operation…Dave

Thanks Dave. You saved me the trouble of trying to find that information for Kevin! 73s, bill

Kevin: I apologize! I thought that I had seen someone post the method, guess that was not correct. There is a way to terminate a print operation from within the scribble program. The only problem is that I don't remember what it is and am not where I can find out. Will try to answer that later if I can. 73s, bill

Bill; I am not sure of this, but I believe hitting the ESC key will get you out of printing. Again I remember this vaguely from a message from Chris of MSS. Ken
