Regarding Pete Baczor's call for bug reports to Commodore, I think people should be encouraged to send their bug lists to the Forum first, THEN to Pete. Maybe in the programming sector of the data library we could have a file called BugList (or several files if the need arises). Or maybe there is one already? I'll start with my own list, right here because I have no experience with uploading to a data library. There is a generic bug in the assembly language version of the include files, both in the listings in Rom Kernel Manual II, and in the source files (versions 1.0 and 1.1). Namely, an immediately trailing semicolon is sometimes carried over from labels in structures in the C ".h" files, where I guess they are required, to the labels in the ".i" files, where they prevent the type macros from expanding properly. The fix is to remove the semicolon. FILE RKMII PAGE# LINE# LABEL devices/ E-2 36 LN_SIZE clipboard.i 37 cu_UnitNum graphics/ E-39 34-35 cl_Next etc. copper.i 36 cl_ ViewPort should be cl__ViewPort 37-43 cl_CopIns etc. 47-49 ucl_Next etc. graphics/ E-44 29 gi_nextLine rastport.i 31 gi_lastColor intuition/ E-62 968 BarLayer (besides ";" should intuition.i be "sc_BarLayer" I think) E-63 1023 ns_CustomBitMap Correspondingly, the Xref listings at the beginning of Appendix E are occasionally missing some labels, side effects from faulty macro expansion, I presume. Finally, the following labels were not carried over from graphics/ layers.h to graphics/layers.i (they should have been in graphics/clip.h anyway, according to p. 2-79, RKMI): LAYERSIMPLE, LAYERSMART, LAYERSUPER, LAYERBACKDROP, LAYERREFRESH, also ALERTLAYERSNOMEM. Except for the last paragraph, these bugs were reported to Commodore's technical support about a week ago.
