Well, you realize that at an 8 bit quantization level the best S/N ratio you
can expect is going to be equivalent to an unencoded cassette. But I believe
we've had this conversation before, and I seem to remember your saying it was
quite a bit worse than that. Have you spoken to Mimetics about the problem?
I wish I could hear the ones you are listening to in comparison with the ones I
have. The Mimetics is no noiser than any of the others I have here for review,
and I'd love to know how that compares with what you're hearing.

Some of the samples on the Sampler disk were not done on the
Mimetics Sampler. The file Sample Demo (or somthing like that) was done on
the hardware as sold. That sample is quite a bit noisier then the others.
Maybe I am nit picking, as I am in general happy with the Mimetics package,
particularly the Sequencer. In my informal comparison the Future Sound samples
are less noisy, but it is not as useful for my purpose.
