I have the Mimetics Digitizer and unlike soundscape it is nothing to
brag about. I have never heard anything with so much noise in it but I'm
told that none of the Amiga digitizers are worth their weight in dirt.
I am using it, and I am getting decent sound, but with the adition of
dbx II and a variable frequency noise reduction unit. Needless to say
with all that processing the sound is a bit flat (or it could be the
Amiga's 7K cutoff-but don't try not using the filter or you'd be in for
some very nasty surprises). Like I said, with $400 of processing, decent,
but without it, forget it!
HEY HARDWARE DEVELOPERS, HOW ABOUT A DECENT DIGITIZER! WHAT DO
YOU THINK **DIGITAL** SOUND IS ALL ABOUT!!!!!!
Sorry Dom, had to get that off my chest, in any case I can recommend
Pro Midi Studio, very nice.

That "decent digitizer" isn't going to do you one whit of good as long as
you've got an output filter cornering at 4 KHz and a variable-frequency clock
running all the way down to 14 KHz. It's going to have to be more of a
system solution.

Just becuase the house is on fire you don't need to throw on the dog. In
other words, even if the frequency response isn't great thats no reason to
build a digitizer with a 30 db S/N ratio.
It's better to have nothing in the mid-high end than hiss!

From all I've heard and read Pro-MIDI Studio is a winner and the
Sound Digitizer is a loser. I'll probably get Pro-MIDI and the ECE interface.
