I have seen several messages go by written by people trying to get a second A2K floppy to work. I wrote about this briefly a while ago, but the info seems to have slid off the board. No, it doesn't hurt the floppy to have it's control cable plugged in backwards. (as we have ALL found out) You need to pull the A2K apart and short the two pins at J301. *INSPECT* the new drive. Trace the copper from the ID jumpers to the ribbon cable connector. *LOOK* at the ribbon cable. Somewhere in the cable there are a few conductors with a half-twist right in the MIDDLE of the cable run. These conductors are closer to one side of the connector than the other. The twist and the ID pins exist on the SAME side of the connector. Set the new floppy ID jumpers for DF1:. Good luck. I know of no good way to tell you how to do this. They are ALL different. If you REALLY want to be whorish about this, mechanically reverse the two drives so they are correct left-to-right; DF0: DF1:. I think you can do it electrically, too, but I didn't.
