Ron — You can use a menu item to use the endpoints of an existing polyline as the endpoints of the first segment of a new polyline. The AREA command can then calculate the area and perimeter of the new polyline. BTW, in Version 2.6 we introduced a "running" mode for the AREA command, which allows you to add and/or subtract an area from a running total; also, it finds the area of a circle or polyline with one pick. If you upgrade your software to Release 9 (the version after 2.6, and the one we are currently shipping), you will have this added capability. The screen menu item might look something like this: .. [BuildSeg]^c^cpline;end;\w;0;0;end;\ .. This macro gives: .. – 2 <Ctrl-C>s – PLINE command – ENDpoint object snap (pick first point of existing segment) – Set the polyline width to 0 – ENDpoint object snap (pick second point of existing segment) and then simply continues on with the normal polyline command.
