I am trying to DXFIN into a NEW drawing and AutoCAD is telling me that I
don't have a new drawing and consequently will only input entities.
I have previously edited ACAD.DWG to use surveyors units and a style of text
called simplex which uses the simplex font. Could these be part of the
evaluation criteria to determine a drawing's "newness"?
Other info: ACAD Release 9, IBM-PC format, ADE3
Thank you for your interest. Mike Klepper
Mike, you're exactly right: any change to the prototype drawing (ACAD.DWG
unless specified otherwise) will cause DXFIN to warn you that it is not a
"new" drawing. One way around this is to begin a new drawing and enter a "="
after the filename. For example, if your new drawing was called ABC, you
would enter ABC= when asked for the name of the drawing. This would set all
environment parameters to default values, ignoring the prototype drawing.
