Yes, things could open up enormously. It makes you wonder if Apple really
thought this thing through, or whether they let vengeance/sour grapes spoil
their thinking.
But is type really that important to most computer users. Sure, we care
about it, but your average business (even your big business), in everyday
use, can't possibly care _that_ much about the availability of faces and
their transferrability across platforms. And that, it seems to me, is
important. It's the type and design community that has the most at stake in
this upheaval, but we are only a small portion of the total computer
market. Will Royal really ever be that important to IBM and clone users? My
impression is most businesses are quite happy with the HP output. Where's
the incentive for them?
