According to commodores full press briefing kit, in Hannover, the Videobox is a PAL system. The press briefing states … "Videobox is the first system to include digitizing and genlocking in one unite. A fed-in video signal and an available computer image can be merged so the computer image will be superimposed over the video signal. A certain color of the computer image – usually the background color- will become transparant making the video image visible only in the areas of that color. The result of this overlaying process is visible on the monitor but can also be transmitted to a tv or vcr system. Its important to note that all products mentioned in the press briefing, are geared toward the EUROPEAN market, and probably wont make it over here for months, if not longer. Any PAL oriented technology would be useless here, and unless Commodore can convert it to NTSC standard, I would suppose that a videobox would be a while in coming. Of course, it COULD be a variation of the NYIT box, but I have no idea. I invite speculation on the "previewed" High res color graphics card. Anyone know if this is the TARGA board, adapted to amiga, or something of Commodores on concoction???
