#What is RAF?

R(emote A(ccess F(acility, from Datability (212) 807-7800. Can address any
reachable VAX subdirectory as a logical drive on the MSDOS machine.
Programs written in MS-Basic, MS-C, or MS-Pascal can call subroutines on
the VAX so you can have VAX-as-coprocessor magic. Remote print. Remote
messages ("system going down in 2 minutes, please logoff") can break
through to MS-DOS session so you don't get caught napping. Etc. I
apologize to Syndesis about using this area to describe a non-Syndesis
product (albeit an MS-DOS one).
Thanks for the info Tom. My company uses something like that too. Might
be the same product, but not sure. (They use it only on PC's, though. No
Amigas in the office yet). – Steve –
Don't fret, you're talking about DECnet, and that's OK with me. 🙂
Anything you can send to us, would be appreciated. At this stage, your
ideas for Amiga DECnet can have great influence. So write up your ideas,
and send them to Syndesis at 20 West St., Wilmington, MA, 01887.
