I'm looking for some information on the AT BridgeBoard. With this BB is it
possible to use a 3.5 disk drive, or are you still limited to the 5.25
drive? Is software pretty much compatable, or has anyone found software
that will not run on this BridgeBoard?
I could use any information that you can supple. A friend is trying to
make a decision between Amiga and a straight clone. Since he needs as much
compatability as possible I would like to give him as much info as I can.
Since I don't use the BB I need a little help.

The drive that comes with the AT BridgeBoard is a 5.25" 1.2 Meg
floppy; however, the interface will accept a 3.5" drive instead and will
work with drives designed to use 1.44Meg, 720k or 360k 3.5" disks.
You, of course, would have to supply your own drive to replace the
5.25" drive. They're fairly cheap…I've seen them advertised in the near
$100 price range.
The BridgeBoard (either model) is about as compatible as you can
get, I'm sure there's some software that won't run on them….but I've
found nothing that won't run on my XT BridgeBoard…and I use some "heavy
duty" programs.

The AT bridgeboard fully supports 3.5 and 5.25 inch drives.
Software is totally compatible, however, the bridgeboards do not have any
serial port support. You would need to add a card with a serial port for
the IBM side. Graphic support is also limited to CGA unless you add a
separate EGA or VGA card and a separate monitor.
