#2091 ram chips ?
7 messages in this thread
A buddy of mine recently traded up to an Amiga 2000 HD, which has the
new 2091 hard drive controller card that has room for an extra 2 MB of ram.
He didn't receive any documentation about the 2091 with the system that
says what kind of ram chips are needed. My Amiga 2000 HD is ordered and
should be here next week, and I'd like to look around for a good price on
the ram chips. Does anyone know what chips the new 2091 card takes ?
Thanks,
Kathy
Kathy,
On page 50 of my manual for the 2500 (also uses the 2091), it says to
install either 512K, 1M, or 1M at a time, and that the chips must be CMOS
256k x 4 DRAMS with access speed of 120 ns or faster. The manual has
several pages of instructions for the installation of these chips. I would
have thought it would be in the 2500HD manual as well.
After the chips are installed, there is a jumper that must be set, too.

Kathy: Glad to be of help. Clint <VRLI>
Cathy, the board takes 256 x 4 chips. I'm not sure what speed, but I would
use 100 nanosecond chips.
