Rejuvinator

What happened to all of the people that where so excited about the A1000
Rejuvinator???? It seems that in 2 wks that advance orders have been made
available that Gregory Tibbs has only recieved about 20 some odd orders…
somewhat low, I really hope that this project turns out to be a success,
for I wish to see support continue for the A1000.
First, CBM has the A1000 trade up. That takes some of the edge off. Second
I have a supposed competitor who claims he can make a profit at $100 less
than me. Given his specs, I suppose he could. I went the high road with a
bigger PCB and 4 layer design, the competitor's probably isn't. That alone
is nearly $75 difference in manufacturing costs.
If I only sell a few hundred, I am not going to complain. Neither will my
partner as we have taken a 'don't break the bank' approach. I have other
products that will sell as well or better coming in the future. However, I
will say I have learned to keep the old mouth shut until I have product
ready. Lead time is important in keeping 'clonesRus' out of your market.

Greg,
For me, it's not so much the trade up as the Ed. Discount that is causing
me to dither about the Rejuvinator. Now that you've given us a definite
(?) price for it, I've added that to my spreadsheet calcs. Still can't
decide what to do, though. 🙂

Greg,
Could you re-post the announcement about the Rejuvinator. I missed the
first one due to moving and am interested in upgrading my 1000.
Thanks
There's a description of the Rejuvenator currently in Data Library 1.
Greg– My budget doesn't allow my buying the rejuvenator right now but I
expect to do so by summer. I suspect that others will be in the same
situation. Hope you'll still have them for sale then.
I'd rather get the rejuvenator than try to figure out what to do with my
A1000 memory and hard disk expansion gear if I traded in for a 2000.
Tom
Well, I dunno how 'nice' it is, but, you could do the trade up, and
eventually get the rejuvenator. As I understand it, CBM only requires the
keyboard, and there are adapters our there to let you use an A2000 keyboard
with the A1000… Kinda circumvents CBM's intent with the upgrade, I think,
tho. –Eet–
Greg,
Sorry about the delay about getting back to you on my interest in the
Rejuvenator. Haven't been online in about 3 weeks now (heavy duty pressure
at work, wife is pregnant, buying a house, my MS-Dross PC at work doesn't
let the network and DesqView to coexist nicely; Take your pick, they're all
REAL reasons <grin>) if not longer, so I know I missed the initial
announcement of availability.
Could you please repeat the price for me? Given my current status of
pregnant wife + house purchase, I doubt that I will have the cash
immediately. It might take me a couple of months.
Maybe we can arrange a time-payment plan <sheepish, hopeful grin>
–Gabe
Well, I was asking eveyone to email me for info, so I wouldn't hurt
anyone's sense of commercialism here on CI$.
You have Email.
-Greg
I hope the rejuvenator is a success for awhile. I'd like to have an A1000
again. (hopelessly nostalgic, I guess :). –Eet–
"I'd like to have an A1000 again." Hey Eet! Want mine? 🙂
(I'll KEEP the 82M HD, then kew)
heheheh, welllll…. yeah, but, there are other things I want first <grin>
–e.
–Eet–
Yeah, the Wonder board costs $400. It has 1.2 & 1.3 in rom with room for
1.4. Probably the biggest selling point for me is that the Wonder board has
an A2000 compat software audio filter. I will definately use THAT LONG
before I would ever use a 2000 video slot.
Maybe you are Mr. Kahler's spy?
Anyone who cared about switchable audio filter has performed the one chip
dead bug hack that costs a total of 50 cents in parts. It has been
published in several Amiga Magazines.
Hope you can hear your filterless audio thru the rf noise.

My understanding was that Greg's making 100 of them, and selling them at
AmiExpo DC. I figured I'd pick mine up then.
I better clear this up, now. We are making 100, but were only going to have
20 ready for the show. Production problems with the company we contracted
with will mean that we will only have 10 ready for the show and the
remainder is delayed at least a week. If you really want one of the 10 at
AmiExpo, I will be holding off sales until Sunday afternoon, as I need to
have something to show at our booth.
-Greg
If you want to, we only have had 20 or so orders so you can still get in
early there. Any orders taken at teh show will be added to that list in
prioritized order. If things go well, the 70 left will be taken up at
AmiExpo, so get in now.
Err – I mean by prioritized that the order in which the orders are
received. Other than the 10 we will have at the show, noone will be able to
hurry up their place in line.
Greg,
I have managed to misplace my order information (blush). Could you give me
the phone number again?
-Brian
I have already placed an order, I hope that Gregory gets many more…
