Thanks Don I have the A.M.A.S Sampler/MIDI Interface from Microdeal and it uses both the Parallel port and the Serial port. I assume the Parallel port is used for the sampling and the Serial port for the MIDI interface. However, the sampler will not work (sample) without the serial port plugged in. This led me to believe it was using the serial port for it's power supply. Since I have an A1000 and want to upgrade I asked for the serial port pinouts to see if I can custom configure a couple of DP25 connectors to make my A1000 A.M.A.S work with the A2000. A few weeks ago you gave me the difference between the A1000/A2000 Parallel ports and I've got that side covered. If the sampler is using the +/- 5V (A1000 pins 21/14 respectfully) it looks like I'm out of luck. If it uses the +12 (pin 23) I'm all set BUT I don't understand the Audio out and Audio in. Could these lines have something to do with it? I will experiment with the power lines and see if I can pull this off. (Cheaper than calling England). I've left a message for Richard Rae concerning a hardware modification that enables the A1000's filters to be turned off as in the A500/2000. I have herd that it was published in A.C. but Richard seems to have vanished. I also herd that there was a problem with the very first A1000's concerning noise in sampled sound playback and that a mod. was was also published to correct this. Any thoughts/data on these things?
