#Publish! & LaserMaster
2 messages in this thread
I am really puzzled by the article in Publish! and the comments here on the
LaserMaster 1000 and LX6 turbo res products. I am puzzled by the Publish!
article because I have used the both the LX6 turbo res 800×800, 600×600 and
the LM 1000 (because I am a dealer) and the output just doesn't look like
it does in Publish!? It is really good output and I agree the article in
Publish! makes it look pretty bad! ——I am puzzled by the comments here
as everyone seems pretty quick to jump on LaserMaster w/o finding out first
whether the Publish! article is truly representative. Anyone who has used
an LM 1000 or LX6 board, even w/o the turbo res, knows the output looks a
heck of lot better than what is in Publish! Why don't you just contact LM
for some actual samples of turbo res output or contact a dealer for
samples. The real stuff sure doesn't look like the Publish! article.
Also, I don't think you can blame LM for the Publish! article. LM doesn't
own the magazine and they sure don't have editorial approval over what and
how things appear in Publish! ——-

Bob,
Thanks for letting us know what your experience with LaserMaster has been.
I'm sure we'd all like to believe that 1000 dpi is here today and looks as
good as it sounds, but that Publish! page sure didn't prove it.
BTW, have you seen any printed samples of LM's hi-rez stuff? Not laser
printed, but rather offset printed from laser output. Could that even
remotely explain the poor quality of what we saw in Publish?
